Our next beginner’s course starts on Wednesday, 13th November 2019 has been postponed until we can get more people involved. To book a place on the course please visit the Eventbrite page. If you’re interested, but have any questions then contact us via the Contact Us form.
Our beginners course consists of four sessions. The first three sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings 18:30 – 20:30 on the 13th, 20th & 27th November 2019 at the Walkerville Community Centre (6 Pinewood Close, Off Appletree Gardens, Walkerville, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 4SZ). The final session will be held in with our normal club session, as a means to introduce you to the club, in the sports hall at Newcastle High School for Girls ( Tankerville Terrace, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE2 3BA) from 10:00 – 13:00 on Saturday, 7th December 2019. If you can’t attend a session, don’t worry as we’ll do a catch-up one at the end.
The course aims to provide you with a basic understanding of shooting techniques and the disciplines for shooting in safety and with relative accuracy. We will also introduce you to different bow types and a little of the history of this ancient art. During each session you will be supported and guided by Archery GB qualified coaches and advanced archers. We provide you with all the necessary archery equipment that you will require to successfully complete the course.
